We’re Building Something From Scratch — With God at the Center

We’re not coming to you with a course. We’re not funded traders. We’re not “there” yet. We’re the Clays — Latoya and Stephon — a husband and wife raising three boys, learning to day trade futures, and doing our best to keep God at the center of it all.

We started this journey because we needed a way to break cycles and rebuild peace in our home. Financial pressure was heavy. Two of our sons were diagnosed with hearing loss. We had to adjust our work lives, our schedules, and our dreams — all while trying to hold our family together. Trading wasn't a glamorous escape plan for us. It was a God whisper. A nudge toward something we didn’t fully understand yet, but felt deeply called to explore.

At first, we thought it would just be about charts and candlesticks. But what we quickly discovered was that this journey would challenge our mindset, emotions, marriage, and our faith. Trading forced us to face ourselves. The fear of losing. The doubt that comes when a setup fails. The voice in your head that tells you to quit. But right in the middle of that noise, God kept meeting us — reminding us that He’s doing something in us, not just through our trades.

We’ve cried together after losing trades. We’ve celebrated tiny wins like they were breakthroughs. We’ve woken up exhausted but still showed up. We’ve had nights where we questioned everything — and mornings where we recommitted to the vision. Trading has become a mirror — one that reflects not just where we are in the market, but where we are in our hearts.

We’re sharing this now because we know we’re not the only ones trying to build something from scratch — while juggling kids, chaos, and calling. We know what it feels like to want more for your family. To want peace. To want purpose. To want God to breathe on something new and show you it’s possible. This blog isn’t about arriving. It’s about the road we’re walking — imperfect, unfiltered, and full of moments we’ll never forget.
